Tim Downs has a great set of books known as The Bug Man Series. Actually, in the interests of full disclosure, I haven’t read the whole set, but the one book I did read was great! It was a fast-moving mystery with interesting characters. The author sets a great tone in the book. He’s got a wonderful sense of humor.
Did you know that 3 U.S. Presidents have had nicknames featuring the word “Hickory?” We’ve had Old Hickory (Andrew Jackson), Young Hickory (James Polk), and Young Hickory of the Granite Hills (Franklin Pierce). #thatisawholelotofhickory.
Want to be more successful in college (or just about anywhere else)? Make lists. List all the things you need to get done next week. Make the list as long as possible–include lots of little stuff. Often times big things can be accomplished by a long series of small steps. As you get things done, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and excitement when crossing items off your list. It will help you to be task-oriented, and it will build enthusiasm. Oh, and be sure and put “read this blog” on your list!
