Here are some unimportant things I am thankful for:
1. I am thankful for presidential trivia: Calvin Coolidge was the only Prez to be born on July 4. Three Presidents came out of Tennessee to win the presidency, but they were all originally from North Carolina. Three Presidents have nicknames that contain the word “Hickory.” I think presidential trivia is interesting–that’s why I wrote a book of it. I love their trivia; I love their stories.
2. I am thankful that as I write this the Washington Redskins are 3-8. Hey, they could be 0-11, so my glass is half full. Okay, maybe it is a quarter full.
3. I am thankful for brownies, and the people who have made them.
4. I am thankful for ESPN Radio. Mike and Mike are hilarious.
There are some important things I am thankful for, too.
1. My wife who is lovely inside and out
2. Really top quality friends
3. The opportunity to teach at Walters State where I encounter a lot of great people on a regular basis
4. Opportunities to preach
5. God’s love
